Week 8 is here! I can't say my room is fully complete yet in my eyes but I checked off almost all the items on my list I hoped to achieve for this space. If you have been following along you may remember my hopes for this space in week one....to makeover this room to become a creative, calming and chic play room for Emmerson and her friends as well as a space that us adults can enjoy a cup of coffee while the kids play. The cold, the flu and a bad case of RSV has interfered with putting this room together as I nurse my little 3 year old back to health so she can enjoy this space. The last major thing to complete in this space will be the wallpaper. A few small items include swapping out the small flushmount, adding some wall art and organizing craft storage. Scroll below to see the one the wallpaper I chose. Stay tuned for that updated reveal. Until then, enjoy the before and after of my One Room Challenge makeover on this room to create a chic and functional playroom!

All toy storage fits nicely in this Ikea Kallax unit. The bottom row are baskets from Ikea, the middle row are bins from The Container Store and store row is open shelf storage. Lots of our Lovevery items rest on the top shelf. If I want a pretty view from the kitchen I hide the blue trampoline in the bathroom you can see to the right LOL. The bathroom is definitely handy in the playroom equipped with a step stool so E can do everything herself.
I love these wicker baskets for her stuffy storage. I got a few extra for her bedroom as well. Her art easel doubles as a chalkboard on the other side which makes it fun to switch it up for her. And lastly the good, old Ikea kitchen. While we have the beautiful pink Pottery Barn kitchen at our other home, this Ikea kitchen fit perfectly with the neutral colour scheme of this space. This is the wallpaper I plan to install in the entire room....
Picture that wallpaper on the walls here with a family photo gallery wall behind the couch!
My favourite part of this space? Definitely the light fixture. As soon as I saw it I needed it and this was the perfect room to enjoy it in from whether you're in the kitchen, the hallway passing by or hanging in the playroom. Next to that would be the sofa.
That's a wrap on the One Room Challenge for this year! Click here to check out all the other amazing projects completed. Keep an eye out for the additions coming to this space over the next month or so!
